Wayzata Rotary Club contributes to the community in a number of ways, including making over $10,000 in grant awards a year to local organizations and participating in community events.
Recent Grant Awards
- $2,000 Sojourner Project – to provide shelter and legal advocacy for women and children who are victims of domestic violence
- $2,000 TreeHouse of Plymouth – to provide services to at-risk youth
- $2,000 Hammer Residences – to fund quality of life projects for people with disabilities in our area
- $2,000 Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners – Healthy Break Project – to provide nutritious food to needy children during breaks from school
- $2,000 Urban Roots – to provide internships and education to at-risk youth learning about entrepreneurship, nutrition and horticulture.
- $1,500 Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners – Calculator Project – to provide scientific calculators to needy youth who are taking advanced mathematics
- $1,500 Episcopal Group Homes – to repair storm damage to the home of adults with disabilities
- $1,500 Minnesota Chiefs of Police Foundation – to the fallen officers fund
- $750 West Metro Rotaract – to support and encourage the formation of the Rotaract chapter in our area
