Wayzata Rotary members are part of a diverse group of business and professional leaders taking an active role in the community and working to address local and international service needs.  Our club is part of Rotary International, the world's first service organization, which boasts 1.2 million members in 200 countries.  Our motto is Service Above Self.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF BEING A MEMBER:
  • Members are expected to attend weekly lunch meetings on Wednesdays from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM. 
  • Members are required to pay quarterly dues and meal costs - see membership types below. 
  • Members are expected to participate in local or international activities or projects of the club.
  • Members are encouraged to serve in leadership or committee roles within our club.
  • Members live or work in Wayzata and surrounding areas.
 
MEMBERSHIP TYPES:
 
Regular Active Member
This is our most common category of member. These are individual members who intend to attend meetings weekly whenever possible. They are eligible for all Rotary leadership positions and enjoy all the benefits of being a Rotarian. 

Shared or Corporate Membership
This membership category addresses the issue of weekly time commitment for certain members. Two individuals, linked by marriage or employer, may share a single membership, splitting its cost and its attendance expectation between the two of them.

The primary member enjoys all the features and benefits of our current “Regular Active” membership classification; the designated alternate members enjoys the same benefits, except they are not recognized officially as a member by Rotary Internationals and are ineligible to serve as board officers. Also, when both members are in attendance at a particular meeting, the primary member will be charged for an extra meal. Any changes to the designated alternate member requires approval by the Membership Committee.

Young Professional Rotarian Member
Younger professionals may find the cost and time commitment of regular active membership to be beyond their ability. To address that, there is the Young Professional Rotarian Membership, with reduced dues based only on the actual cost we pay to maintain the membership with Rotary International. Meals are charged only when consumed. Individuals up to age 35 are eligible.

Senior Active/Rule of 85 Member
Our most tenured members are eligible for Senior Active/Rule of 85 status when they reach the age of 65 and their age plus their number of years of Rotary membership is equal to 85 or greater. Attendance expectations are dropped and meals are charged only when consumed.
