This Friday, Feb. 22, our waitress extraordinaire Martina McAllister is strapping on her dancing shoes and preparing to bust 17 hours of moves to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network.

That's right, it's time for BSU's annual Dance Marathon! This year, the students have set their sights high, at $208,000. This money goes to the St. Luke's Children's Hospital, paying for a gamut of needed supplies for sick children and their families. Open your wallet and give generously today!

The Dance Marathon, a 17-hour fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network, is held the last Friday of every February. More than 200 colleges across the United States participate and raise funds for their local network hospitals. In our area, that the St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital).

Martina McAllister, a familiar and special face to those of us in the Eagle-Garden City club, serves as community partnership chair on the executive team for Dance Marathon. She is not only a senior at BSU, graduating in May with a major in communication and a minor in nonprofit administration, but she is very involved and passionate about the Dance Marathon fundraiser. Last year, they raised $203,000, and this year’s goal is $208,000.

Although Dance Marathon is primarily for university students, you can grab your wallet and make a generous donation online. Be sure to attribute your gift to Martina and help her exceed her personal goal of $1,000. Our treasurer Surbir Chadha challenges everyone in the club to raise at least $250! Let’s do it!
