2017 Charitable Event and Auction Raises Record $35,000

Event reaches all-time fundraising high!

The Littleton Rotary Club is pleased to announce a record-setting amount will be given to local scholars as a result of its 2017 Scholarship Event and Auction. “Pending final calculations, it looks like this year’s event will yield net proceeds of about $35,000 - $36,000. Those figures are up significantly from the 2016 event, which had net proceeds of about $28,500.00,” said Rotarian and event treasurer Ray Dionne.

All of the net proceeds will be donated to local youths to support their future college or technical school education costs. Educational institutions eligible for support from the 2017 Scholarship Event and Auction include Littleton High School, Lisbon High School, Littleton Charter Academy, Profile School, and White Mountain Regional School. In just the past eleven years, the club has awarded more than $228,500 in scholarships to over 250 recipients from prior auctions.

“The stunning success of this year’s event would not have been possible without the overwhelming support of the numerous local organizations and individuals who stepped up to provide us with generous sponsorships and a multitude of unique and valuable offerings for bidding,” said event co-chair Russ Gaitskill. “We cannot thank everyone who helped us out enough,” he added. In addition to gift certificates, and physical items such as pieces from local artists, this year’s event also included a number of unique experiences up for bid. A few of the many experiences available were a groomer ride up Cannon Mountain, a snowmobile tour for two, a “ride-along” with Littleton Police Department Captain (and Littleton Rotary Club President-Elect) Chris Tyler, a sightseeing cruise on Lake Umbagog, a helicopter tour, and two nights at the Riverwalk Resort in Lincoln with a $100.00 gift certificate to Gordi’s Steakhouse included.

Next year’s auction has already been scheduled for May 4, 2018 at the Mountain View Grand in Whitefield, New Hampshire. The Littleton Rotary Club looks forward to seeing you there!
