Hospital Pavilion

Our District Governor in the 2004-2005 year asked each club to have a special project to celebrate the 100th birthday of Rotary International (1905-2005).  Our club built a Centennial Pavilion on the Tyler County Hospital front lawn with a Rotary matching grant.  It has four Rotary benches that were donated in memory of four charter members of the Rotary Club of Woodville.  The center stone which has the Rotary wheel and 1905 - 2005 was donated by Rotarian Herbert Branch. We had a building contractor to check our work, a great group of Rotarians lead by Lou Campbell and Project Co-Chairs Fred Sullivan and Don Shaw.  From the ground breaking ceremony to the dedication when complete which included the District Governor and Hospital Administrator Dr. Sandra Jackson, it was a fun special service project that lives on today. It is a place where hospital staff, patients and families can sit. If you have not had an opportunity to see the Rotary Centennial Pavilion please take a few minutes to see it. 

 

Thanks to James Knapp and his committee the pavilion has a fresh new look.   They cleaned and sealed it last year.  The new plaques look very nice!!
