Environmental Stewardship

The Kentville Club has developed, supported, and promoted several Environment events.  Four years in a row we hosted an Environment Day in the Park (with support from Kentville Parks and Recreation) to the community at large.  The plant tables were very popular with generous support from NSCC department of Horticulture.

 

Our event focused on environment projects and information through 25 enthusiastic exhibitors.  Both the public and the exhibitors were thrilled with the results. Just to mention a few, we had the scientist from the Canada Research Station, Applied geomatic research group, KC Irving Science Centre, Textile Waste Research, NS wildlife Division -lands and Forests, Eastern Hemlocks Woolly Adelgid specialist and more!!

 

Hands on projects for the club have included the Nova Scotia Invasive Species Association, Ducks unlimited wetlands restoration and the Blomidon Naturalist Society.

 

The Kentville Rotary Club will maintain a presence and involvement in local environment issues along with our community partners.  Together we will make a difference!
