The Rotary Club of Texas City is excited to announce the 8h Annual Mardi Gras Mainland Gala .  This spectacular event is set for January 27, 2108 at the Doyle Convention Center in Texas City.  Proceeds from the Gala will help provide funding for the many community and international projects and programs Rotary funds and/or has provided such as the Rotary Pavilion, Rotary Fitness Trail and improvements to the Trail, Shoal Point Lighthouse and Layettes for Nicaragua.  Rotary also supports educational projects and programs for Texas City Independent School District (TCISD) such as:

 

  • $20,000.00+ a year in Scholarships to graduating seniors
  • Institute for Civility in Government Washington D.C. Trip
  • RYLA – Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program – funding for ten – fourteen students plus transportation to and from and a meal for over 300 attendees for the weekend
  • I Like Me personalized books for Kindergartners
  • Youth In Government
  • Principal’s Honors Breakfast
  • Poster Contest
  • Choir performance at Veteran’s Day
  • School Supply Drive Donations
  • Adopt-A-Family donations and toys
  • Jr. Rotarians - $1000.00 for personalized pen and certificate
  • Interact Club sponsor
  • Other projects and/or programs upon request and approved

 

Come on over to the Mardi Gras Gala at 7 p.m. with a delicious surf and turf dinner, open bar, silent and live auctions and continuous music throughout the evening.

Prior to the Gala there will be a Mardi Gras Parade in Texas City beginning at noon to get the festivities started.  This event will also be the first to have the crowning of a Royal King and Queen.  The court will be comprised of nominees from the Galveston County Rotary Clubs.
