Beverly Broussard - Entergy Spokesperson - Hurricane Preparedness

 

This week's program was bought to us by Beverly Broussard of Entergy.  She told us about  their preparations for this year's Hurricane season, stressing the following.

As the storm appoaches:
Make all preparatons to weather the storm safely.  If evacuation is necessary, follow procedure and direction from your emergency officials.

After the storm:
Remember, electricity and water do not mix.
Have an electrician inspect all water-soaked wiring and electrical appliances before putting them back into use.
When widespread outages occur, Entergy phone lines experience high volume.  Please be patient, and call 1-800-9OUTAGE.
Use the automatic reporting system (select option 1) for the quickest result.
Once you report your outage, there is no need to report it again.  Your patience is appreciated

Stay Safe:
Stay away from, and report downed or dangling power lines or poles.  Call Entergy immediatley at 1-800-9OUTAGE.
Use caution when removing debris, and watch children closely.
Follow manufactures' instructions cloely when using person generators.
NEVER use a generator indoors.
