The Blue Santa Program

provides Christmas presents for children who would receive very little without outside help.  Last year they helped 250 families with over 600 kids.  The program is carried out by the Port Arthur Police Department with support from local businesses.  They are now using the Port Arthur Civic Center as a staging area.  Local families make application and if qualified can come to the Civic Center and pick out unwrapped toys to put under their Christmas trees.

Each year they pick a special group to serve.  Last year it was kids from Sabine Pass who had lost most of their stuff in Hurricane Ike.  This year they are focusing on kids with cancer.

The Blue Santa Program can use volunteers to help organize the toys at the Civic Center and they can always use money for more toys.
