updated us on the activities of the Salvation Army in our area.  He told us about his history with the Salvation Army.  Beginning as volunteer, he later joined the church and became a "soldier" in the Salvation Army.  Being a little past the usual age to go into its seminary he took an administrative position.  Following this on-the-job-training he and his wife were admitted to the seminary.  He has recently been promoted to the rank of Major.

Major Ortiz told us about the activies of the Salvation Army during and following Hurricane Ike.

As usual our club will be ringing the bells at two Salvation Army Kettles on December 13th at the Super-Walmart at Park Center Crossing.
