Kerry reviewed what is going on with the 300 acre business park on West Port Arthur Road.  At this time there is a biomedical waste managment facility, recycling plant, a refinery valve manufacture and maintanance facility and a portable toilet provider.

There is a Special Election on May 9th, 2009 that proposes that up to $750,000 from the City of Port Arthur Sales and Uses Tax be utilized for the cost of demolition of dilapidated structures and infrastructure limited to streets and roads, rail spurs, water and sewer utilities, electric and gas utilites, drainage, site improvements and related improvements necessary to promote or develope new or expanded business enterprises with a project area from 7th Street to the Intracoastal Canal and from MLK Drove to Lake Charles Avenue of Port Arthur.
