told about the "One block at a time" program that will kick off in early February on De Queen Boulevard.  She expects that the program will cover the entire city over the next few years.

The city plans to begin enforcing several ordinances that have been on the books for many years and hopes to be demolishing sub-standard buildings over that next several years.

She pointed out the difficulty in getting legal permission to demolish some of the abanded buildings in the city.  There are funds availabe to bring some of these buildings up to code.
