Don Pumphrey gave us a report on the state of Entergy.

Although most of their customers have their lights back on Entergy still has a lot of work to do before everything is back to normal.
Although they were able restore electricity sooner after Ike than Rita, Ike did more damage.  One reason for the quick response was that a large army of workers were just finishing up in Louisiana after Hurricane Gustav and were able to move directly to Southeast Texas. There were over 14,000 workers from 32 states and Canada working two sixteen hour shifts.  Don told about the staging sites that were essentially self contained cities feeding and housing the workers and resupplying their work vehicles.
Entergy has spent approximately 1.2 billion dollars getting the power back in Texas after Hurricand Ike and Louisiana after Hurricane Gustav.
