Officer Ricky Antoine - PAPD - Traffic Enforcement

was our speaker this week.  He told us about his mission - to reduce the number of automobile-related deaths in Port Arthur.
He talked about DWIs and the new problem - cell phone related accidents.  Talking on the cell phone gives the same degree of driver impairment as having a blood alcohol of 0.08%.  He recommends that we put the cell phone in the back seat and pull over to the side of the road to answer it or let the message go to voice mail and call back later.
He encouraged us to drive 5 miles below the posted speed limit rather than pushing the speed limit.
So watch your speed, don't use your cell phone while driving - Officer Ricky Antoine is watching.
