April 14th Speaker

Director began by recognizing our club's financial support for the Y.  He told us about the Y's after school program that gives over 300 kids a safe place to be after school until their parents can pick them up.

He told about a program with the Salvation Army that will provide grants to Hurricane Rita victums.

The Y is taking part in Activate America, a program to reduce childhood obesity.  He showed a short video describing this program.

He also told us that in the near future the Y will be holding a fund raising campaign to expand the facility's classroom space.
