Fellow CS Rotarians,
Today, with a full heart, I proudly pass the gavel to our new Club President, Rodney McFaddin.
Serving as President of the College Station Rotary Club this past year has been one of the greatest honors of my life. It’s hard to put into words just how much this experience has meant to me. We didn’t just check off goals—we created lasting impact, built deeper bonds, and lived out the true spirit of Rotary.
As I step away from this role, I do so filled with pride for everything we accomplished together. I hope each of you feels that same pride, because none of it would have been possible without your commitment and heart.
Here’s a look back at the incredible journey we shared:
Community Service Projects
- Build A Ramp Projects (July, March, May): 3 builds with strong support from Rotarians and Rotaractors.
- Rotary Care Kits (Aug, Dec, Feb, June): Over 250 kits assembled and distributed to Scotty’s House, American Red Cross, Health for All Clinic, and Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach.
- Clothing for Kids (Dec): Served 103 children with $19,748.99 in clothing purchases; supported by 26 members, 12 Rotaractors, and 36 community volunteers.
- Thanksgiving Outreach (Nov): Donated $3,000 and helped provide over 1,000 meals through Gloria Kennard’s Thanksgiving Dinner, also aided in raising $11,000 more from outside donors.
- Sock Donations (Dec): Donated over 100 pairs of socks to Twin City Mission from the Christmas Banquet.
Youth and Education
- Rotary Youth Exchange Support: Welcomed and supported Kenny, our exchange student.
- ROAR (Rotary and Reading) (Aug): Promoted literacy at Ringer Library.
- District Training & Leadership Development: Attended District Training Conference, District Assembly, and PETS. 10 members also participated in RLI Part 1.
Fundraisers & Promotions
- Pizza for a Purpose (Oct): Major fundraiser with 30 members involved, raising $17,855.48.
- Honda CR-V Giveaway (March): Successful fundraiser with 100% member participation.
- First Friday & Home & Garden Show (Feb/Mar): Promoted Rotary and sold fundraiser tickets.
Fellowship & Club Engagement
- Social Events: January gathering hosted by Chris & Christy Hill, Christmas Banquet in December and June Installation Banquet where we inducted Gloria Kennard as an honorary member.
- Training Sessions: ClubRunner training (Aug), ongoing leadership development.
- Rotary on the Road: Delivered care kits directly to partner organizations, enhancing engagement.
