The Rotary Club of College Station proudly supports our community and international programs.  Our club is a proud supporter of the Fun For All Playground.  Annually we recognize outstanding CNAs with our Florence Nightingale Award, as well as vital administrative staff in local businesses with the Very Impressive Vocational Award, VIVA. In early December, we also host the Clothing For Kids event, where we provide a free Target shopping spree to children in our community.
We are a 100% Paul Harris Club and currently meet virtually via Zoom every Thursday morning at 6:45 AM. We are considering having a hybrid in person and virtual meeting starting in March 2021.
Visiting Rotarians and anyone interested in joining Rotary are always welcome to join us for a virtual breakfast at 6:45 AM on Thursday mornings. Each week a guest speaker from our community joins us and shares updates on their role/events/community service efforts and the program ends at 8 AM.
2020 Clothing For Kids
Since its inception in 1990, approximately 2,000 Brazos Valley children have received warm winter clothing sponsored by our annual Clothing for Kids event.
This year, CS Rotary gifted 70 kids with a virtual $150.00 shopping spree at the College Station Target, serving many organizations that are dedicated to the community such as Family Promise, Project Unity and others.
To promote social distancing, the event was conducted as a “curbside pickup” and the nominated families drove through and received their bags of clothing. After their clothing pick up, Outback Steak House in College Station provided the families with breakfast tacos and the “Books and a Blanket” organization provided the kids with special gifts.
A special thanks to The Eagle for sharing our story, click here to read it and KBTX for coming out and sharing our story as well.  Click here to see the KBTX coverage.
2020 Florence Nightingale
The Rotary Club of College Station held their annual Florence Nightingale Awards on November 9, 2021. For the past 30 years the club has annually recognized local Certified Nursing Assistants working in Bryan and College Station.  This year 6 C.N.A.’s were chosen by their supervisors and peers for their outstanding performance in 2020.  We were excited to award each winner with a plaque and check for $500.00.
Congratulations to the 2020 Winners:
  • St. Joseph Manor - Mittie Stringfellow
  • Accel - Erica Hardy
  • Fortress - Margaret Stewart
  • Hudson Creek - Idalliah Walker
  • Crestview - Lisa Willey
  • The Parc at Traditions - Gwenalyn Shepard
Check out our Facebook page for videos of the awards.  It truly was an honor to recognize each of these CNAs.
