Inspiration: Joe Ribera gave an inspiration on a formula for living – live beneath your means, return what you borrow, don’t blame people, admit when you make mistakes, do something nice and try not to get caught, take a 30 min walk, be on time and don ‘t make excuses, be humble, know when to keep your mouth shut, try not to criticize, learn from the past, don’t sweat the small stuff,

Irmgard Lafrentz – screening day 3/16 @7pm Aquarius theater, Palo Alto of her nephew’s movie. Its been a long time coming.
 
Dana Drysdale – celebrating retirement and looking forward to more Rotary moments!

Announcements:
District Training – 4/18 @ University of Silicon Andhra – 8-2pm, save the date- great opportunity for Red Badgers, newer members and old hands to learn more about Rotary.
 
Dr. Seuss Day is coming   3/2 packet and book distribution will be at our meetings, see Louisa Roberts if you  can’t get it then.
 
Our Daily Bread will be on 3/9 from 10:30-12:30 volunteers needed to help serve meals to those in need. Sign up online (click here)   or contact Susan Latsshaw.
 
CS Pace Project Pacific Autism Center for Education on 3/28  from 8:30-4:00pm yard clean-up. Contact Larry Low if interested in helping support.
 
 
Personal Talk: Jean Gasperini
She grew up in Springfield MA – Dr. Seuss hometown, with 25 first cousins, including 6 uncles all in the service. In 1958 moved to Miami, Florida with her 3 siblings and attended Florida State University – studied working with blind people and received a Masters in Rehabilitative services. She took care of her siblings after college after her parents had passed away.  Jean shares she learned a great deal of perseverance. In 1978 she moved to Cupertino and had 4 children, and now has 2 grandchildren. Jean and her husband Dick love to travel. It was great to learn more about Jean.
 

 Internal communications team update. Stuart provided everyone an update on what it takes to prepare the Rotator and website. He pointed out some features such as photos and videos as well as a new link to Upcoming Service Projects  He introduced the team including our new Webmaster Bill Allen.
 
Most importantly the team is looking for a few member to volunteer for reporting and editing, its just one hour per month, contact Stuart for more details.
Cycling Affinity Group: PP Larry Dean presented the Bike affinity re-boot! Larry is looking to start weekly rides beginning in March perhaps Monday, Thursday, or Friday mornings. He also thanked Mayor Scharf and councilman Sinks for their support in promoting bike safety and access in Cupertino. Larry pointed out that our club has made a big effort in helping improving cycling safety and access in Cupertino ; Over the course of time, we have contributed over  $25k towards bike repair and education.
