I first learned about Days for Girls at the 2014 RI conven- tion in Sydney, Australia. Since then, District 5950 and  5960 club members have sewn almost 5,000 washable  feminine hygiene kits and distributed hem tto girls and  women in 22 emerging countries. These kits empower  females to go to school, earn money to care for their  families and have a much better life.                                                   

 

We believe that individual efforts focus on individual needs, but combined efforts serve humanity. The power of combined efforts knows no limitation, multiplies resources, and broadens our lives and perspectives. Fellowship leads to tolerance and transcends racial, national, and other boundaries.

 

These are Brewtarians, Rotarians from throughout District 5950 who gather each month with friends, family and colleagues at a different taproom. Representing many different clubs, Brewtarians are dedicated to their One Way Test: “Will it Build Goodwill and Better Friendships?” They meet on the fourth Thursday of each month from 5:30-7 p.m. For further details contact Jim Hancock at hankrj@gmail.com.

 

 

We believe Rotary unifies all people internationally behind the ideal of service. We encourage diversity of vocations within our membership and in our activities and service work. A club that reflects its business and professional community is a club with a key to its future.

In District 5950: PDG Bob Halagan (Buffalo) Rotary is a unique platform that allows each Rotarian to connect her/his hopes  for impacting the world with the power, the people and resources of Rotary International. For me, that has been the opportunity to connect with people from around the world to bring hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of projects to impoverished and forgotten women in Guatemala.  

 

We are committed to and expect accountability from our leaders and fellow members, both in the results of  our efforts and in the processes we use to accomplish our goals. We adhere to high ethical and professional standards in our work and personal relationships. We are fair and respectful in our interactions, and we conscientiously steward the resources entrusted to us.

 

 

Attributes of integrity are accountability and responsibility.  We volunteers have many roles; when we make a commitment, it's important to follow through. In my corporate and non-profit roles, accepting responsibility and completing commitments are  integral to my success – and to managing trust and respect in business and with our family & friends.

Rotary’s Four-Way Test  is the cornerstone of how  I espouse to live my life.  The “test” supports the core  values, integrity being one  of them. In my role in leadership, I have been extremely attentive to stewarding our resources, especially financially. “Is it fair and beneficial to all concerned, and will it build goodwill” is always a consideration as we allocate dollars in D5950.

We are a global fellowship of individuals who are leaders in their fields of endeavor. We believe in the importance of leadership development and in leadership as a quality of our members. As Rotarians, we are leaders in implementing our core values.

"I believe the best way to live RI’s core values is to see them in action in others – and the best place to see a large number of People of Action living out our Rotary core values is at a Rotary International Convention or a Zone Institute. I receive so much joy out of Rotary that I want to share it with Rotarians and friends at these events. That’s why I embraced my role as Promotions Coordinator for the 2018 and 2019 RI Conventions, I have met many Rotarians by working in our new Zone Pair partner, Zone 25B, and have made many new friends."
