Just Days to Wait Until the Big Event!
The second annual "Wine Down With Rotary" fundraiser will be on Thursday, October 6. There will NOT be a Rotary meeting on October 5 so this event will substitute for the meeting of the week.
You will taste six wonderful wines as selected for your enjoyment by a panel of wine experts, an appetizer pairing for each of the wines selected, jazz music by Toby Castro and his combo, an opportunity to take a chance on winning some fabulous raffle items and some of the best fellowship in town! It will be an awesome, not-to-be-missed event!
As Cindy Jeanis says, "Drink wine and help the world!"
Plan to be a part of this very special event!

Members Welcomed to the Club!
Again last meeting, we welcomed 2 new members to the club.
Twice this month, we welcomed two new members into the club! President Ted Moor (center) was smiling broadly as he posed with Patricia Woolridge and Shawn Molina.
Patricia is Executive Director with Junior Achievement of the Golden Triangle. If you frequented Hobby Lobby, you might recognize her as formerly the general manager there before joining JA in their mission. A former student of Texas A & M (whoop!), Patricia is obviously a fan of Aggie football but enjoys all sports, including running.
Shawn is Senior Account Executive with iHeart Media and teaches as an Adjunct at Lamar in the History Department. He earned both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in History from LU. Shawn's very active with the Freemason's and serves as District Deputy Grandmaster. He enjoys scuba diving, acting and bartending.
We extend a warm welcome to these two new members!

Interact Clubs Need Donations
The Interact Clubs are again collecting supplies to create gifts for others. They request toilet paper rolls to fill with goodies, trinkets, and treats for local nursing homes and hospitals. They can also use left over gift wrapping paper, ribbons and yarn to tie the ends of these treats. Sheree Pierce, sponsor of the West Brook Club, asks that you bring items to the club meetings and/or the Rotary Office before November 10 so she can make a delivery to the Interact Mixer.

"Healthy and Loving It!"
Dr. Msonthi B. Levine
Golden Triangle Internal Medicine
by Chris Ayers
Msonthi Levine is a Beaumont native who graduated from West Brook High School and then went to play collegiate football at Rice University. After medical school, he practiced in Tyler, TX, and he now practices internal medicine in Beaumont.
Dr. Levine gave 5 great ways to live to age 90. We would all be better off if we practiced these 5 things:
Diet – Stop eating cheeseburgers and fries every day at lunch and instead opt for fresh fruits, vegetables and lean meats.
Exercise – 30 minutes of aerobic exercise 5 times per week is paramount to a long and healthy life. This can include running, walking, cycling, etc. Regardless of what you choose, exercise 5 times per week.
Know your numbers – during your annual physical, you should receive your cholesterol, blood pressure, A1C, and BMI numbers. Know them and how they affect your body and overall health.
Stop smoking – smoking is deadly, disgusting and is a horrible habit. Stop now!
Sleep – 6-8 hours of sleep per night is required for your body to operate at its highest level and to recover and rejuvenate. Go to bed earlier!
