The entire area knows of the Anayat House, Inc. and its mission. It is "a non-profit organization providing overnight accommodations for family members of patients at local Beaumont, Texas, hospitals; especially those patients in intensive care units, parents with newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit, and individuals with out-patient service needs. (The) mission is: to provide affordable accommodations in a safe and restful family setting to outpatients or to friends and family members of patients using local medical facilities." (excerpt from website)
But, do you know that later this month, the Anayat House will move into a brand new facility with expanded facilities and opportunities to serve those in need of this special service?
Rotarian Mary Ellen Robertson has served on the Board for the organization since its inception. She will take us on a virtual tour and and "show us around." Come hear about it and be one of the first in the community to take a peek inside!
Ever wish YOU had the opportunity to ring the opening bell at the meeting?
For a donation of $25 to the Beaumont Rotary Foundation, you will be allowed to do just that. You will be called up to ring the bell to start the meeting.
When he rings the bell to conclude the meeting, President Chad Blanchard will match your donation with another $25 donation to the Beaumont Rotary Foundation!

RYLA Chairman Tim Sudela reports that everything is in order and our adult delegation is prepared for another great RYLA experience!
Tim, Jim Baxter, Cindy Cherry and Michael Perez will be attending and assisting the District 5910 Team to make this a great learning experience for the student delegates. They will be joined on Friday by the seventeen students from Beaumont and two of the previous year's delegates who were selected to return to assist. Good luck and have fun!
Please mark your calendar indicating a change of date for the Layette Service project. Doubling as a Rotary After Hours event, the date was changed from February 20 to February 27 in order to accomodate members who would like to attend the Spindletop Club's Celebrity Roast (on the 20th) to do so without conflict. Thank you for supporting both events.
Rotarian Chad Mason used the beautiful weather on Saturday, before the current freezing temperatures, to take his daughter to the Beaumont Rotary Centennial Playground for a fun afternoon. He added to our journal of activity with this great update.
"Just wanted to let you know we've been at the playground for the past hour and a half or so. Probably 50 people here over the course of that time (including) 3 or 4 special needs kids. (I) talked to the mom of an adopted girl with sensory deprivation disorder and she said they drive over from Port Arthur at least twice per week, and she's seen a huge improvement in her daughter since they've been coming."
Please let us know of your experiences at the Playground and your observations when you are in the vicinity. While we have no way to actually record statistics, the log of activity could be helpful with future grant requests and on-going improvements.
A good number of Rotarians made it their new year resolution to pay dues promptly this billing cycle, and we thank you! It's not too late to do the same if you have not.
Invoices for January - June 2014 dues were emailed to all active members on December 16. Please check your email for it. If you did not receive the invoice, you will want to check your "spam" folder or phone the office.
Please make note that payment was due by January 1, as the club is invoiced by Rotary International for dues on that date.
Your payment can be processed through the online secure payment center on the homepage of the website in the right column.
If you need a paper copy of your invoice sent to you or your company's accounting department, please contact the office at 842-1913 for assistance.
