"VOCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS"
Jane Burns
Chairman
The Vocational Excellence Awards are presented annually by Rotarians to those in our community nominated for their vocational excellence, their high ethical standards and their service to our community.
This photo is of the 2013 recipients and the nominators. On February 5, we will continue the tradition of recognizing the dedicated employees who have earned recognition for their contributions.
Due to time constraints at the meeting on Wednesday, each presentor will have a limited time to make their oral presentation but we will publish the written nominations in full for you to read in the next issue of the RotaryGrams.
Ever wish YOU had the opportunity to ring the opening bell at the meeting?
For a donation of $25 to the Beaumont Rotary Foundation, you will be allowed to do just that. You will be called up to ring the bell to start the meeting.
When he rings the bell to conclude the meeting, President Chad Blanchard will match your donation with another $25 donation to the Beaumont Rotary Foundation!

The T. Kelsey Lamb Award for Business Ethics is presented annually to a Beaumont Rotarian who consistently exhibits the highest ethical standards represented by the Rotary Four-Way Test in his or her chosen vocation. In 2013, this prestigious honor was given to Dr. Henry Venta, pictured center above, flanked on his left by Chairman Phil Dunlap, and on the right by the speaker, Dr. Bette Stead.
Our Club will award the coveted honor at the February 26th meeting, according to this year's chairman, Craig Escamilla.
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, February 19th.
We were grateful that the January Rotary After Hours could be re-scheduled after the 2014 ice storm that shut down businesses and cancelled events. Rotarians gathered at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas for some great conversation and a relaxing stroll through the beautiful museum. We also enjoyed some delicious refreshments prepared and provided by Lynn Castle, our host for the evening. Everyone was most appreciative.
SAVE THE DATE!
The next Rotary After Hours will be with the Layette assembly on Thursday, February 27.
District 5910 Mid-Year Meeting was on Saturday, February 1 in Huntsville. Those attending from the Rotary Club of Beaumont were easy to spot in the Centennial Playground shirts: (left to right) President Nominee Pat Anderson, President Elect Vernon Pierce, Executive Director Jacque Chapman, President Chad Blanchard, Centennial President Becky Mason and PD Governor Chuck Mason. Sharon and Roger McCabe, who are normally at every District function, were unable to attend this year.
