Mental Health Correctional Officers aim to to educate local correctional officers on identifying, engaging and referring individuals experiencing mental health issues to mental health appropriate programs.
Thomas Smith, crisis prevention specialist at Spindletop Center, said the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Spindletop have been pioneers in collaboratively addressing the needs of individuals experiencing symptoms of mental illness and substance use disorders for many years.

Election for 2022-2025 Board of Directors and Board of Trustees
On Wednesday, December 8, the membership will elect four Rotarians to serve on the Club's Board of Directors and one new trustee for the Beaumont Rotary Foundation. The newly-elected will serve for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2022.
The Nominating Committee selected qualified candidates who will appear on the ballot. A sample ballot appears below and if you click on it, you can open a larger version that is more easily read. The ballot shows the nominees for the two Boards, and we will be voting on December 8.
You must be present at the meeting on December 8 either in person at the Elegante or using Zoom through which you will cast an electronic ballot.
As you consider your vote, please remember that according to the Club bylaws, a person must have been elected to a 3-year term on the Board of Directors to be selected to serve as Club President. Article 3, Section 4 reads: ".. the president-nominee shall have been a director elected by the membership at some time previous to his or her selection." In other words, you could be voting for a future club president!

The N.E.S.T. which the Rotary Club of Beaumont funded at Martin Elementary is complete and ready to open for the children to begin to use! This will expand the learning opportunities for the children enormously. We are excited and can't wait to see them enjoying it.

If you have started your holiday shopping at Parkdale Mall or local stores, you are surely hearing that familiar sound of bells ringing. That's right, it signifies that the Salvation Army has started their "bell-ringing" campaign!
Every year, nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army in the form of meals, shelter, after-school programs, job referrals, youth shelter intervention programs, rehabilitation services, and more. The gifts you help collect through the Red Kettle will enable these local Salvation Army programs and services to continue providing help and hope to those in need.
For a number of years, the Rotary Club of Beaumont has been one of the many organizations that tend a booth at Parkdale Mall and participate in the collection process. It is a demonstration of "Service Above Self."
Jacques Gagne is Chair of the project and is asking YOU to volunteer to help this year. Please sign up for the hour(s) you can help on Saturday, December 11.
Sign up your spouse or a friend or two to work with you, and if the sign-up form does not allow enough room, phone the Rotary Office (409-842-1913) and ask that the number of spaces be expanded for your family or small group. Thank you.
It's going to be a "Holly Jolly Holiday Party!" Come join in the fun for the traditional Club celebration, hear the announcement of the President-Nominee, enjoy some holiday tunes and sing along with the Rotary Chorus under the direction of Rotarian Dr. James Han. The aroma of a delicious buffet dinner will fill the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, and the cash bar will be well-stocked! And don't forget to wear your favorite ugly holiday sweater because there will be prizes!
Reservations are required before December 9th. The cost is $45 per person, and spouses and/or significant others are invited as your guest. What's a Rotary Holiday Party without some gift giving for those less fortunate? This year, the planning committee has selected to support the shelter residents of Family Services. Gift suggestions are:
Girls: bath stuff, perfume, makeup, mirrors, purses, sleep shirts, jewelry, small handheld games (under $20)
Boys: balls, action figures, small handheld games (under $20), the "Five and Below" store headphones, speakers, drones
Moms: soft blankets, robes, slippers, cute nail care items, shower gels and lotions
