The Rotary Club of Beaumont, TX, is a large and diverse fellowship of inspired business, professional, and civic leaders with significant community connections that foster the ideals of Service Above Self and high ethical standards.
The Board of Directors meets monthly and the meetings are open to all members. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, December 17. If you would like to attend the lunch meeting, please make a reservation in advance with the Executive Director.

Election for 2025-2028 Board of Directors and Board of Trustees
On Wednesday, December 11, the membership will elect four Rotarians to serve on the Club's Board of Directors and one new trustee for the Beaumont Rotary Foundation. The newly-elected will serve for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2025.
The Nominating Committee selected qualified candidates who will appear on the ballot. A sample ballot appears below and if you click on it, you can open a larger version that is more easily read. The ballot shows the nominees for the two Boards, and we will be voting on December 11.
You must be present at the meeting on December 11 either in person at the Elegante or using Zoom through which you will cast an electronic ballot.
As you consider your vote, please remember that according to the Club bylaws, a person must have been elected to a 3-year term on the Board of Directors to be selected to serve as Club President. Article 3, Section 4 reads: ".. the president-nominee shall have been a director elected by the membership at some time previous to his or her selection." In other words, you could be voting for a future club president!

SALVATION ARMY RED KETTLE PROJECT
Many Rotarians will share their holiday cheer by showing up for the Red Kettle Bell Ringing at Parkdale Mall Saturday, December 7. Thank you to Paul Koester for chairing this project!
Every year, nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army in the form of meals, shelter, after-school programs, job referrals, youth shelter intervention programs, rehabilitation services, and more. The gifts you help collect through the Red Kettle will enable these local Salvation Army programs and services to continue providing help and hope to those in need.
For a number of years, the Rotary Club of Beaumont has been one of the many organizations that tend a booth at Parkdale Mall and participate in the collection process. It is a demonstration of "Service Above Self."

Fire and EMT Recognition Program

The tables were full for the November 20th Rotary Club of Beaumont annual recognition of Beaumont Fire and EMS Department personnel. Women and men in this profession provide tireless service to our community, and as Mayor Roy West Jr. stated, ‘they run towards danger’.
Sheree Pierce served at the Registration Table to check in members and guests. The Beaumont Fire and EMS Honor Guard, comprised of four individuals and a bag piper, presented the United States and Texas Flags. Rotarian Robert Kocot led pledges to the flags. Board action updates were provided by Van Greer, Secretary.
Rotarians Tish Cornell and Kate Brooks Carroll, who spent time touring several fire stations and participating in ‘ride alongs’ with Fire and EMS personnel, shared their ‘day in the life’ of the variety of calls for service that Fire and EMS personnel experience every day.
Beaumont Mayor Roy West introduced Chief Earl White, the meeting’s speaker, who presented Unit Achievement Awards to two units that performed above and beyond the call of duty. Awards were presented to the members of Med 6 and Engine 4, as well as to Unit E7, Med 12 and Med 501.
Chuck Heare, Beaumont Rotary Foundation Chair, presented a $2,000 check to Chief Earl White to support their mission of protecting our community.
President Michael Perez provided three upcoming reminders. There will not be a Rotary meeting next week due to the Thanksgiving Holidays, the deadline for Vocational Excellence Award nominations is November 23, and the Holiday Party will be at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, December 17, 6:00-8:00 PM.
President Perez also reminded Rotarians about upcoming Service Project opportunities. Bring can goods and volunteer at Some Other Place November 26. Join Rotary Holiday Choir rehearsals at Becky Mason’s home on Thursdays at 7 p.m. Share holiday cheer by participating with Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell Ringing at Parkdale Mall December 7.
