Denver LoDo Club will be streaming the documentary "A Towering Task" about the history of the Peace Corps and have a follow up Q&A with Colorado director Alana DeJoseph.  An opportunity to invite and attract new members.

The Denver LoDo Rotary club is pleased to announce that we will be having a screening of the documentary “A Towering Task”.  The film is about the history of Peace Corps with a follow up Q&A with Director Alana DeJoseph.  Alana is a resident of Colorado and  served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Togo.

This documentary premiered to a sold out crowd at the Kennedy Center in 2019 and was also shown at the Denver Film Festival that year.  It was originally scheduled to be shown at the festival twice but another showing was added as the first two quickly sold out.  Denver LoDo Rotarian Charlie Hunt helped connect Alana with the directors of the festival.

Although this warts and all documentary is a big hit in the Peace Corps community with its honest storytelling, Alana’s real desire is to get the film into other arenas so that there is a greater awareness of what Peace Corps has been doing since its inception 60 years ago by President John Kennedy.  This is a great connection for Rotary clubs as there is a partnership agreement between Peace Corps and Rotary International that was initiated from District 5450.

If your club is interested in a three day steaming license and a follow up Q&A with the director, please contact Charlie Hunt of the Denver LoDo Rotary club at masilae@gmail.com or Alana DeJoseph at alana.dejoseph@gmail.com.  You can also learn more about the film at https://www.peacecorpsdocumentary.com/
