Welcome from our President
Welcome to the Shawnee Rotary Club!

What a year it was last year, we overcame a lot.  The Rotary International theme for 2021-2022 is SERVE TO CHANGE LIVES.  Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta is urging members to become more involved in service projects, saying that caring for and serving other is the best way to live because it changes not only other people’s lives, but also our own. This is so fitting for the year because we have a lot of needs in our community.  We will have multiple Service Projects this year and chances for everyone to get involved.  Our Rotary Club has a big heart and working together we can achieve more, we welcome you to be our guest at an upcoming meeting.

JOIN US - DECEMBER 14th

Our Shawnee Rotary Club will be taking shifts at the USPS Post Office in Shawnee to RING the BELL for the Salvation Army.  Our Club will be matching up to $500 what we earn in the Red Kettle for the day.  Come out and support ROTARY.  If you'd like to ring a bell, please contact Becky Webb to get on the schedule!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Shawnee Rotary Club would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to our Auction Donors, Auction Bidders and Auction Committee for helping us raise $3,314 for Shawnee Rotary Club to use within our Community.
Due to the absence of our annual fundraiser Lobster & Leis for the last 2 years (due to Covid).  Our Club is hosting an ONLINE Holiday Gift Auction as a fundraiser this season.  The funds go directly back into our community through service projects.  Most recently, our local Rotary Club has given back by restoring Airport Track Exercise Park and placing bike racks around town.  Find our online auction here:  https://www.32auctions.com/HolidayGiftAuction

Bidding starts at 8:00 a.m. on November 15th and ends November 22nd.  We have 36 amazing items up for grabs.  If you aren't into bidding, we are also open to accepting donations.  You can do that on the site or contact Rotary Club.
THANK YOU TO OUR OCTOBER SPEAKERS

October welcomed Leslie Merritt, Executive Director of Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce as one of our speakers providing us with the history of how chambers formed, why they formed and their purpose now.  You can find more information about Leslie and the Tecumseh Chamber by clicking here:  Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce.

Melissa Kamm with Silver Lining Arts Academy gave us a wonderful presentation over the ARTS programs she offers, along with the benefits for youth and adults to be involved in creative outlets.  Melissa also sang Amazing Grace for us with her wonderful singing ability.  Visit her website at Sliver Lining Arts Academy for more information on classes and shows.

New member, Loida Salmond with the American Red Cross presented about the 28 counties she oversees, what they have accomplished this year and obstacles they continue to face.  Visit the SE Oklahoma Red Cross page here.

Leslie and Richard with the American Legion came to visit about all things Veteran related from baskets, food pantry for veterans to fundraisers, to how to become involved and challenges they currently face.  Visit their facebook page here:  American Legion Shawnee.

Thank you again to our October presentations.  We wish you the best of luck on your journeys and want to hear back from you often!

FUN-raising with Shawnee Rotary Club
Shawnee Rotary Club will be holding an online auction from November 15th through November 22nd to raise funds for our civic club.  We have not held our infamous Lobsters & Leis in 2 years due to Covid so we are trying something different.  If your business would like to donate a Holiday Gift Basket to be auctioned off online, please let us know at the link below.
Shawnee Rotary Club will be hosting their Foundation & Past President Luncheon on November 2nd at Mabee Gerrer Museum at 12:00 p.m.  Jeff Potter, Foundation Chair has arranged for a fabulous meal and speaker that you won't want to miss.  Tickets are $50/member and $30/guest.  Please RSVP to Jeff or Becky.
Shawnee Rotary Club Diaper Drive Comes to a Close

We delivered an overwhelming number of diapers.
Our membership purchased diapers through South Central Industries for Legacy Parenting.
News and Updates
Last year, Shawnee Rotary Club donated over 15,000 diapers for Legacy Parenting Center's Diaper Drive.  We're at it again this year!  Help us, help Legacy Parenting Center by donating diapers - our drop off locations include:  The Pioneer Library in Shawnee, The Clinic Pharmacy, Edward Jones (Jim Smith's office) and Natalie Arnett State Farm's office.  Support our local community by keeping baby booties dry and clean.

Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. Our 35,000+ clubs work together to:
