Nathan Donald sworn in as 2016-17 Rotary Club President

Outgoing Chickasha Rotary Club President Brad Duvall placed the president’s pin on 2016-17 President Nathan Donald during the club’s annual Installation Luncheon on Thursday, June 30 at Canadian Valley Technology Center.

Several club members were given awards for perfect attendance during the past year and several members were awarded “Service Above Self “ certificates for their work in club.

Perfect attendance certificates were presented to Jim Allen, Peggy Boldt, Sharon Bowman, Ann Manchester, Nathan Donald, Pauline Garrett, Richard Van Dyck, Ed Chamberlain and Ron Sanders.

Service awards were given to Elizabeth Allen, Nathan Donald, Pauline Garrett, Peggy Boldt, Michael Oberlender, Cody White, Mitch Williams, Jim Allen, Conrad Duprez, Ron Sanders, Dick McCalla, Kory Kirkland, Sharon Bowman, Ann Manchester and Chris Mosley. Michael Oberlender was honored as Rotarian of the Year.

Chris Mosley was awarded a Sgt of Arms Hall of Fame Jacket for his multi-year service in the position as guardian of the club’s decorum. The jacket remarkably resembled the vests worn by greeters at Wal-Mart. That’s appropriate since Chris’s reign of tyranny in assessing petty fines to Rotarians makes him well qualified to grab shoplifters at the door at Wal-Mart.

Duvall recognized outgoing board members and outlined the club’s accomplishments during the past year, which included raising $7,500 for the Polio Plus campaign, raising $5,900 through the club’s Gator raffle, implementing a Student of the Month program with Chickasha Middle School, a successful Rotary Run and a net increase of eight members.

Donald, executive director of the Chickasha Area YMCA, outlined his goals for the coming year, saying  “with this group of Rotarians, the impossible is possible. He also swore in the 2016-17 board.

Rotary starts its new year back at its old location with renovations complete at First Christian.
