This was emailed to all members from President Michael Oberlender announcing that the annual Shrimp and Crab Boil has been eliminated.
The Board held a special called meeting on Friday March 2, 2012 to address the future of the crab/shrimp broil. T he financial information was shared that showed a steady decline in the net income from this fundraiser. After much thought, consideration, and discussion it was the feeling of the board that we discontinue the crab/shrimp broil so we may focus our energy toward the Run as a sole fund raiser of that day and increase that fundraiser to not only make up the little net we gained from the crab/shrimp but surpass it. Below you will find the financial information the board was presented.

Please know this was not an easy decision for there has been a long and rich history with the crab/shrimp (and in the past lobster). With the thought in mind that the purpose of Rotary Fundraiser is to make a difference in the community, then we must do our very best to help out those organizations that receive that which we raise.
Humbly,
Michael Oberlender, club president
