He said we owe a debt of gratitude to those who "gave up their tomorrows, so that we may have our tomorrows."
Rose, who served two tours in Vietnam and is a Purple Heart recipient, gave special recognition to those who served in that war more than 40 years ago, where 58,000 Americans died.
Vietnam veterans did not return home to flag-lined streets and cheering crowds, he said.
"No other veterans in the history of this country have been met with such hate and disrespect," Rose said. "We owe them something. We owe them an apology. Much is being done today to try to erase that terrible memory. Today I want to remember those from Grady County who returned home from Vietnam after making the ultimate sacrifice with no welcome."
He then read some of the names of those from Grady County who served and died from Grady County
Thank you, Tom and others who have served our country.
The meeting ended with recitation of the Rotary 4-Way Test.
