Our guest speaker for the 5-19-2011 Rotary Club of Chickasha meeting was James Roller, Market Development Director For Chesapeake Energy. 

The 5-19-2011 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha meeting opened with a prayer, pledge and song.

Ann Manchester and Cody White were recognized for co-ordinating successful Rotary Day Run and Shrimp and Crab Boil.

 Pauline Garrett announced that any contribution a Chickasha Rotary members make to the Rotary Foundation from May 13 through the end of June will be matched dollar for dollar. 

That means if you donate $500, the matching points will make your contribution worth $1,000, making you eligible to become a Paul Harris Fellow.
 
The club had accrued about 6,000 points to match the dollars contributed.

Elmer Kuntz was Rotarian of the Day and he introduced James Roller, Market Development Director for Chesapeake Energy, as our guest speaker.
 
Roller said the company traces its roots to a $50,000 investment in 1989 with nine workers. It now has more than 10,000 employees, $34 billion in value and oil and gas production in 17 states.
 
The currently have 154 active rigs, making Chesapeake the second largest producer of the national gas in the U.S. He said the U.S. has up to a 200-year supply of natural gas.
 
He explained the steps to gas production. That includes site selection, completion, production and reclamation.
 
Roller said Chesapeake is a very environmentally sensitive. He also presented a power point presentation that explained the difference between horizontal and vertical drilling.
