About 160 runners participated in the May 19 Chickasha Rotary Run.

Jacob Buhler of Edmond and Chastity Teeter of Lindsay won the male and female divisions of the Chickasha Rotary Run 10K on Saturday, May 19 at Chickasha's Shannon Springs Park.

About 160 runners entered this year's event which included the traditional 5K and for the first time, a 10K and a one-mile fun run/walk around the lake.

Buhler completed the 10K course, that wound its way through neighborhoods and across Cottonwood Creek Golf Club, in 32:39. He was followed by Theron Stolzfus of Edmond in 33:44 and Joe Schmal of Elgin in 40:41. Brad Duvall of Minco was fourth in 42:08 and Paul Countess of Chickasha was fifth in 47:11.

Teeter's winning time was 51:53, followed by Regina Pyle of Chickasha in 55:13, Shelly Barrington of Chickasha in 55:53, Alexandra Parker of Chickasha in 56.37. Apryl Swatsky was fifth in 57:26.

The 5K winners were Ian Campbell of Edmond in 17:46 and Camille Herron of Warr Acres in 17.48.

Campbell was followed by Mason Bivens of Duncan in 18:29, Chris Limpscomb of Walters in 19:06, Nick Garrison of Altus in 19:51 and Trey Woodward of Chickasha in 22:03.Christin Fairchild of Altus in 17:48 was second behind Herron, followed by Jennifer Bivens of Duncan in 22:49, Cheryl Gomez of Anadarko in 23:17 and Samantha Nestell of Chickasha in 23:36.

Buhler, Teeter, Campbell and Herron each won $125 and a trophy. The second place finishers each got $75 and a medal and the third place runners each got $50 ad medal.

Wilcoxen Academy retained the Corporate Team Challenge traveling trophy for the 6th straight year. Team First National Bank and Trust was second.

All proceeds from the race help the Rotarians fulfill community service projects in the community.
