Warren Martin, curator of the Gen. Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum was guest speaker at the 2-14-2013 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha.


The Feb. 14, 2013 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha opened with a prayer, pledge and song.

No one admitted to being a guest.

Prayer concerns include Jerry Mottinger and Bill and Janice McVey.

Former member John Allen, president of the Bank of Verden, has rejoined the club. He was proposed by brother Jim (auto) Allen, who presented John a new Rotary Pin after he was inducted back into the club by President Cody White.

Rotarian Nathan Donald told members tickets for the April 23 Harlem Ambassadors basketball game against the Chickasha Breeze will be available beginning next week.

President Cody said the Chickasaw National had requested the Club's help in providing a serving water at an April 6, Household Hazardous Waste collection event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chickasha High School.

Mark Tibbetts was Rotarian of the Day. He introduced Warren Martin, curator of the Gen. Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum, as guest speaker. 

Warren has 19 years experience and motivational speaker, having traveled to 28 countries.

In his role at the Leadership Institute, located at Hobart in Southwest Okahoma, Martin develops museum exhibits and talks to students.

The facility was established by Gen. Tommy Franks after he retired from a distinguished military career with a goal of developing students.

The 9,500 museum highlights the life of Franks. Other exhibits being develop include the Murrah bombing, that's in keeping with the institute's goal of presenting exhibits to student students can relate to world events. 

Martin explained the core of the institute's philosophy -- the 4 Cs -- Character. Communication. Common vision. Caring. 

The are the Four Stars of Leadership General Franks has lived by and are an essential part of being an effective leader. 

The Leadership Institute and Museum offers:

All of the workshops are fully certified and presentations communicate the history, passion and leadership traits exhibited in the person of Gen. Franks.

The institute also has a 60-feet traveling museum that goes to schools at no cost to the school.
