Salvation Army Response Unit
The 2012 Nechako Rotary Club Project was assisting with the purchase of the Emergency Response Unit for the Salvation Army in Prince George.
The Club Membership worked hard during the 4 month period to sell tickets on our "Ford Torino" Car Raffle to raise the funds to meet our Pledge of $25 thousand dollars to the Prince George Salvation Army, to help with the purchase of the Emergency Response Unit Trailer used to augment the Salvation Army's ability to respond to Emergency Crisis in the north.
Crisis such as the Mill Fire in Burns Lake or the Lakeland Mill Fire in Prince George in addition to any other crisis that might occur in BC, where people are impacted by the loss of their homes etc and require immediate assistance in the supply of shelter, food and counseling to help get their lives and well being back in order.
Today, Nechako Club President Andrea Johnson and Fund raising Director Ken Pendergast presented a cheque for $18,000 dollars to Captain Neil Wilkinson of the Prince George Salvation Army. Captain Wilkinson is also a member of the Nechako Rotary Club. The $18 thousand dollars was a substantial completion of our Pledge to the Salvation Army, with a promise to work hard in the future to help complete the entire pledge amount of $25 thousand dollars.
Thank you members for your hard work and commitment to this pledge and making the Nechako Rotary Club a responsible Service Club in our Community.
