Policy Statement

For Rotary Year 2009-10

 

1        The clubs weekly meetings and the Executive Committee meetings are scheduled for one hour in duration

 

2        The club's charitable giving, both in financial and service terms, will be directed towards 70% to local community, with emphasis on youth and seniors, 20% international projects and 10% Canadian projects.  Approval of Project funding will require approval of the Executive Committee over $2,500.00 and by the membership for projects in excess of $5,000.00

 

3        Rotarians introducing prospective Rotarians will be eligible for an incentive rate of $5.00 for each meeting, to a maximum of two meetings per proposed guest.

 

4        The clubs membership attendance requirement will be 50% of all regularly scheduled meetings, with members having "make-up" options available from the following

a.       Attendance at another Rotary Club

b.      Attendance at a District Assembly, District Conference or international convention.

c.       Attendance at a club social event

d.      Participation at an on-line meeting

e.       Participation and attendance at a Rotary club project (Operation Red nose, School interviews, Cottonwood Island, RYLA), including Committee meetings.

f.        Attendance at a Executive Committee Meeting or a Club Director's meeting            

 

To be eligible the events must occur within a two week period of the Rotary clubs regular meeting that was unattended, and must be reported to the Secretary within a reasonable period of time.

 

5        Financial support for the Rotary Youth Exchange Program will consist of the following allowances and provisions:

a.       Host Family                    $200.00/ month

b.      Exchange student            $150.00/ month

c.       Additional expenditures for school fees, cultural activities, and the costs associated with official Youth Exchange programs will be recognized.

 

6        The club will provide financial support for the personal travel and registration costs associated with attendance at the District 5040 annual conference, district assembly and Rotary Learning Institute training, within a budget of $3,000/year for the following:

a.       Club President     100%

b.      Other Executive Committee members 100% (except district conference), and

c.       Members up to $300. each, pro-rated based on total budget of $3,000.00
