Sewing Machines, materials, patterns and miscellaneous items were collected in Quesnel on Saturday, January 30th by Rotarians Gary Gurnsey, Bill Bateman, Steven Chang and Ken Pendergast. A major supporter of this program, Judy Bala, Ruth Barthel, her husband and son, have been collecting sewing machines and materials in Prince George and Quesnel for the past few months. This shipment contained 25 additional sewing machines to compliment the previous collection, bringing the total to in excess of 120 sewing machines. All these machines are being repaired and serviced as required by Bill Bateman, prior to being placed in storage with other materials in Art Knapp's warehouse. These machines, materials, school supplies and medical equipment will be shipped to Vancouver this spring, in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Tsawassen, for further container shipment to both Liberia and Sierra Leone
