UNBC President

UNBC's President, Dr. George Iwama spoke to the Nechako Rotary Club on April 28th, regarding his 10 months in the role as President of our Northern University. Dr. Iwama said that he is very pleased to be back in BC and head of the Northern University. He indicated that UNBC has a very broad and holistic attitude toward Sciences and Research despite the fact it is not a large University. He indicated this is a good factor given that UNBC is growing where some other older Universities might be inclined to pass on some of these type of activities. Dr. Iwama has a very strong professional background in BC as well as having leadership in academic programs including the National Research Council. Dr. Iwama is certain to maintain the high standard for the University of Northern BC. Rotarian Sam Kirsch thanked Dr. Iwama with a donation to our Shelter Box Canada Program.
