Taking a Leap With RYLA North

Michaela Will reports out on her experience at RYLA North 2015.
Michaela Will attended Rotary this morning and shared her experience at RYLA North this fall. Heading out and hoping for a relaxing week-end free of homework assignments, Michaela, along with fourteen other young adults, didn't know what to expect. What she experienced was a weekend of workshops, activities and the development of new friendships. Speakers included George Stedeford (The Money Game), Kerry Deschamps (A Simple Leadership Truth to Build Your Life Around), Lorne Calder (Ethics and the Four Way Test), Peter Thompson (Applied Creativity), Ross Birchall (The Young Entrepreneur and the 21st Century Challenge) and Shauna Harper (Connecting the Dots). She learned about Rotary, leadership principles, and the fact that you "may never get there" and the importance of enjoying the journey. While she wasn't a fan of the tire swing, Michaela took a leap of faith and tried out the zipline! Overall she thought it was an exceptional experience and would recommend it to other young adults who are interested in learning more about themselves and developing leadership skills.
