Shelterbox

Rotarian and Shelterbox Canada Ambassador Gary Gurnsey provided an update to the Nechako Rotary Club of the support in the north for the current campaign "Have a Heart for Haiti". Gary reports preliminary figures of approximately $100 thousand dollars collected from 100 Mile House and north, collectively and $20 thousand in Prince George alone. Gary estimates with other contributions coming in, Sheltarbox has raised about $120 thousand dollars. The current display at Pine Centre Mall is getting good responses and will remain their with staffing from Rotarians and volunteers from the public sector until Feb. 14th. A reminder to anyone still thinking of making a donation, that the government is continuing to match all donations until midnight, February 12th, so time is running out.
