Rotary Recreation for Kids

One of the White Rock Rock Rotary Clubs collected a large quantity of used kids hockey equipment under their program "Rotary Rec for Kids",  to be shipped to Prince George for distribution to "Kids in Need of Equipment". 

The Nechako Rotary Club was asked to receive and oversee the dispersal of this equipment.

The equipment arrived compliments of Bandstra Transport.  A total of 7 pallets of equipment, including almost 2 pallets of Ski boots and snow boarder boots and some Figure Skates.

The equipment was nicely separated and categorized by type and packaged in large hockey bags and boxes.  

Thanks to the Prince George Family Y and specifically Faydra Aldridge, the equipment was received and stored temporarily at the Family Y facility at the Highland School site.

The next step in the chain is to get the equipment into the hands of those young people that need it and will use it.  

The Prince George Minor Hockey Association is trying to arrange for an equipment Swap at the Kin Centre in conjunction with their team building program.

The Family Y is going to accept the "Helmets, Skates and Goalie Gloves" for their Kids Skate Program.

Any Surplus equipment following these processes will be donated to the Tsay Kay First Nations kids located at Fort Ware.

Hopefully, the Ski Equipment can be used through the School's Ski Program where they take students to Otway, Tabor and Purden.
