Rotary Mission Accomplished
Last year, Nechako Rotarians made a commitment to help purchase an Emergency Response Unit for the Prince George Salvation Army.
The commitment was for a sum of $25,000.00. A Car Raffle was arranged to raise the funds for this commitment. Despite the best laid plans and hard work of all Rotarians involved, the raffle only produced a net sum of $17,000.00, which was turned over to the Salvation Army for the project, with a pledge to raise the remaining money through additional Club efforts.
The Nechako Rotary Club held a spring garage sale and was successful in raising some of the funds, but still somewhat short of our pledge.
Undaunted, the Nechako Club then embarked on a 50/50 Raffle which was extremely successful and netted the club approximately $10,000.00.
Today, the Nechako Rotary Club had the opportunity to finalize our Mission and provide a cheque of $7,000.00 to the Prince George Salvation Army, Captain Neil Wilkinson, to complete our pledge for the full $25,000.00.
Thank you fellow Rotarians, and the Salvation Army for your hard work and dedication, and patience.
