Rotary Centennial Pavillion
Posted by Kenneth Pendergast
On Friday, June 5th, 2009 the three Prince George Rotary Clubs celebrated the official completion of the Rotary Centennial Pavillion constructed at the view point in front of UNBC.
The project has been a long one, spanning almost 5 years from plans to completion.
A commemorative plague will be mounted on a large stone in front of the pavillion to mark the occasion in addition to a "Time Capsul" that is being placed with the rock.
The event was honoured by presentatations from a City of Prince George Representative, followed by MLA Shirley Bond, and UNBC representative Rob Van Adrichem.
Ron Fichner, President of the Downtown Rotary Club, and MC for the occasion, thought many of us might not be around to see the viewing of the Time Capsul in a hundred years, but sure that the contents would remember the occasion well.
