Joni Brown is the "Team Leader" of RE/Max for the Caribou Real Estate Board.

The Caribou Real Estate Board covers all of the Northern portion of BC, from 100 Mile House to the Yukon Border, Prince Rupert to Alberta Border.  Typical of anything in the North, we do things in a big way, or a big piece of the Province.

David Black is in Commercial Realty with ROYAL LePAGE in Prince George.

Both people provided the Nechako Club with an update in Real Estate for our region.

Everyone knows that our Realty took a "Melt Down" in 2008 that was very serious.  Property Sales were almost at a stand still.  This poor market stayed with us for about 2 years and started to improve in 2010.

Increase in the market has seen a slow improvement and 2012 was seen as a "Good Year" in Real Estate.  The market was described now as being "Stable".

Joni indicated prices are being somewhat skewed by the sale of some of the "high end" homes in Prince George that have sold at higher prices than the average home, making the average seem a little higher than normal.

Joni indicated their is a good cross section of homes in Prince George ranging from $180 thousand to the more expensive Executive type homes on the market.

David indicated their is a good movement of larger Commercial Properties in Prince George, but the City has not experienced the higher growth that many expected would occur during the past 20 years.

Both Joni and David gave the Club some experienced opinions regarding the challenges that both Realtors and Building Appraisers face when trying to make an honest evaluation of the prices that clients might expect when planning to market their homes and property.
