Operation Red Nose
The first weekend of the Nechako Rotary Club Operation Red Nose Program was completed successfully, with the aide of the new computerized dispatch system that has been developed on our behalf by Jeff Paetku of ABC Communications.
The computer program is still in the development stages but still performed well, directing the rides to smart phones carried by each of the ORN Teams.
Friday evening we provided a total of 25 rides with 9 teams.
Saturday evening we provided a further 51 rides with a total of 12 teams, although a couple of the teams were only required to assist with a short backlog when we got busy.
Response time was averaging only 2.5 minutes, which is amazing as we are doing really well if we can keep the response to 15 minutes or less.
Sponsorship for this years program is ongoing, with additional donations still being received from participating companies and businesses.
The bottom line is that our Operation Red Nose Program continues to grow this year, over our previous records, and the Nechako Rotary Club continues to grow the program in response to the needs to manage with the many volunteers and teams required to dispatch a large program.
Thank you Rotarians and friends of Rotary for making this wonderful community program possible.
