Doctor David Bowering from the Northern Health Department presented the Nechako Rotary Club with some very interesting facts and figures regarding Men's Health, or possibly Lack of good Health in Prince George and Northern BC. On average, men living in the north are more susceptible to poor health conditions both from personal life styles as well as their association with work hazards. Typically, men throughout the country tend to live shorter lives than women, but the the figures indicate that men are prone to much greater health issues, driving fatalities etc than women. Men are also inclined to not seek medical examinations or assistance until a problem is clearly evident. I wonder if this has anything to do with the fable that Men don't ask for directions either. Dr. Bowering was thanked by President Bob Guy for his presentation.
