Karen Toombs

Rotarian Karen Toombs provided the membership with her Classification Talk this morning.
As Karen put it, she was "born at a very young age" where she lived at a place called Findley Forks. Findley Forks is now under water as part of the Williston Lake Reservoir, but used to be a small outpost north of the current town of Mackenzie.
Karen has lived in the Prince George area all of her life, and has been a member of T&S Communications with her husband Warren for 29 years.
Karen and family have also been active participants in Pathfinders for 25 years, through their church group. This has been a wonderful experience in youth upbringing and watching these young people come back to the community later in their lives to stay and work in Prince George.
The Toombs family have been very instrumental in helping to make our Operation Red Nose Program the success that it is today, and is supported also by Karen's husband Warren and their three daughters, Amanda, Sara and Jackie.
The Toombs family love to travel and also spend a lot of their recreational time as a family, involved in both seeking and hiding Geo caches. They recently found a total of 251 geocaches in one day while on holidays in Las Vegas. Wow. I'm not if that is a record, but certainly a major achievement in the world of Geocachers.
