Yvonne Anderson gave us a presentation on the Global WASH Project. Yvonne is the WASH Ambassador for Rotary District 5040 and a member of the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen. She is leading the Rotary Global Grant #2799249, a major Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiative in the Rakai District of Uganda. This is Yvonne's second Rotary Global Grant in partnership with ACTS for Water Uganda. The first, completed in Irimya, Uganda in 2024, demonstrated the impact of sustainable, community-led WASH systems. The Rakai project builds on that successful Gravity Flow Water System model, providing safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene, and supporting communities on the path to long-term self-sufficiency.
