Energy Reduction in PG
Posted by Kenneth Pendergast
Dan Adamson, Environmental Manager for the City of Prince George provided an interesting presentation to the Nechako Rotary Club regarding the rational for reduction of energy consumption, in addition to the barriers to the process and the lack of support or uptake to energy reduction in Canada and Prince George.
Everyone has seen literature and promotion of our "Carbon Footprint" and the opportunity to buy or sell Carbon Credits. However, the concept is slow moving due to a number of factors including lack of knowledge, opportunities, time, bureaucracy, cost and lack of financing.
Further, the concept is not being strongly promoted due to lack of sharing, add on's to costs and apathy by the public and the market place.
Rotarian Brian Pearson thanked Dan Adamson for his presentation with a donation to our Shelter Box Canada Program.
