Fellow Rotarian Terri Dickson, currently a member of the Burns Lake Rotary Club, is working as the Membership Recruitment Coordinator for the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club (Otway) in Prince George.

Terri and her family have recently moved to Prince George and are extremely busy with job functions in Prince George and surround communities.

Terri provided an interesting update and plee for volunteer assistance to the Nechako Rotary Club for the various improvements at Otway in preparation for the 2015 Winter Games, as well as the many "Test Events" that are being hosted at Otway, also in preparation of the 2015 Games.

The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club has approximately 50 kilometres of cross country trails to beckon the approximately 2000 skiing members of the Club for 2014.  New developments include the "Biathlon Range", "two new Technical Buildings", a series of improvements to some of the trails and the Stadium area.  These new developments were required to accommodate the Club's expansion, but were also required specifically to host the Nordic Skiing Events in the 2015 Winter Games.

In addition to the Nordic Skiing, Otway is used extensively for "Snowshoeing" and in summer is a regular attraction for "Mountain Biking", "Hiking" and "running".  Competitive events are held for Biking and Running during the summer months as well.

Caledonia Nordic Ski Club requires many volunteers to assist with many of the functions associated with hosting these competitive events during the next couple months, and anyone interested in getting involved should contact the organizers and/or the office at Otway.

Terri was thanked for her presentation by Rotarian Dolly Hilton with anoother donation to our Rotary Polio Plus Program.
