Books for Africa

Nechako Club Rotarians were assisted on Friday Oct. 22nd by School Teacher Gerry Chidiac ans a number of the students involved in the "Me to We" Program in school, to box, carry, load and unload about 60 cases of school books, text books and library books from the old Gladstone School, into the trailer supplied by Rotarian Gary Gurnsey, and hauled to Art Knapp's Plantland warehouse. An additional 60 cases of books were also boxed and removed from Gladstone again Tuesday Oct. 26th. Thank you to Rotarians, President Bob Guy, Kelly Zammit, Ron Neukomm and Lloyd Clay for helping in this project. In addition to the books, we were able to also pick up 3 hospital beds to be stored for later shipment. These books, beds, remaining blackboards and sundry equipment will be transferred to the Vancouver World Health Network warehouse for shipment to Africa.
