Black History Month

The Nechako Rotary Club enjoyed a presentation this morning by Cliff Rafael, from CNC.

Cliff is from Trinidad, but immigrated to Canada, and specifically Prince George 20 years ago.  Cliff is one of the instructors at CNC where he is also involved as one of the promoters of the "Black History".

Cliff's message today is that we in Canada are all part of a large national immigration to North America, from every ethnic background and country, but collectively we comprise an "Essential Fabric" into the people that make up our country called Canada.

Each person is a connective thread in this fabric, composed of many colors and backgrounds, providing the diversity of our Canadian Nationality.  These "threads" make up the pattern of this "Fabric" of our multi cultural people.

The College of New Caledonia is having three separate events to help celebrate this years "Black History" starting with an information meeting on February 9th, at the Civic Centre.  Admission is $15.00 per person.

The festivities will include some ethnic foods and entertainment.

Cliff summaries the events as being full of "FUN - FOOD and FELLOWSHIP".

Come out and participate in the "Fabric" of "Black History Month".

Cliff was thanked for his presentation by Rotarian Lisa Mueller, with another donation to our Rotary Polio Plus Program.
